Responsible for achieving or exceeding tax collections goals through the full operation of the 7 Bureaus (2,800 employees approximately) which include: Tax Evasion, Collections, Fiscal Audit, Tax Assistance and Legislation, Alcohol Beverages and Licenses, Returns Processing and Ports Control.

Approved new or current administrative procedures to improve operations efficiency. Administered the Internal Revenue Area Budget ($73 million approximately).

Coordination of bids for tax returns and licenses, review of audited financial statements and other financial data of taxpayers to determine collectibility of tax debts. Coordinated with officials from the Governor’s staff and Federal Agencies issues related to law compliance, tax evasion and other legal tax matters.

Perform Multiple public appearances to discuss new tax legislation and other tax issues of public interest.

Reviewed Circular Letters and Determinations stating the Treasury Department’s position related to a variety of tax laws.

Organized and conducted multiple Public Outreach Seminars, Radio and TV appearances to discuss technical tax issues applicable to individual, corporate, excise, agriculture, exempt organizations, pension plans and other topics of public interest.
